Does anybody know what is the limit in horsepower when a RS chip is used in a F7R 700 engine?
I mean, what modifications can it handle before the air/fuel ratio starts to go dangerously lean?
As far as i know it is designed to work with OEM air box and 55mm exhaust(without catalyst).
Will it be capable of controling another airbox(gr A airbox for example) and group N camshafts?
Thanks!

Re: Renault Sport group N chip
Hi no problem with the GrA air intake but the engine will not provide the best of his powerfull.
However as you know the GrN don't have this kind of air box (just dynamic intake in the bumper and GrN exhaust system).
The best way is to remap your chip whenever you change one engine part.

Re: Renault Sport group N chip
I don't trust the local ecu tuners(programmers) and it is a racing car for rental so reliability is one factor that is not negotiable...
I also cannot rely to an aftermarket ecu chip that will not be developed on real time(mapped on the street i mean).
So i suppose that besides a Gr A intake and an exhaust there isn't much that i can do...
Any idea how much power should i expect?
The final spec will be a bit better than a Gr N engine, that means Gr A airbox,55 or 60mm exhaust and some small cylinder head modifications(polishing of the ports and the induction manifold).
Thanks for the info Pedro!

Hi
You should expect 163-165 ch DIN with full decat 50mm exhaust system, stock air box and 98 octane fuel or higher. On my mind, you don't need Group A air box system except If you like the sound on your face lool
be careful about copy of this chip on ebay And don't forget that the renault sport Group N chip is designed for race so you loose some security systems like knock security mode and more
Bye
Fred

Thanks for the info Fred!
I already have the chip.It is a copy from a genuine Renault Sport ECU that was bought many years ago.
Regarding the airbox,i have a few problems with the required space and i cannot use the factory airbox so that is the reason that i need an aftermarket airbox.
Sorry but i forgot to mention it before...
All this is for a race car,not a street car.

You have to put your battery in your rear trunk (no other ways).
